Communication between the Parent & the Daycare makes everyone Happy

A child in a child care center is an issue that occupies the minds of both the parent and the childcare provider constantly. The parent, while at work, wishes for a communication with the Childcare. The provider too wishes an active communication with the baby’s parent since taking care of someone else’s child is a big responsibility.

With more and more mothers becoming working mothers, child care facilities that can give peace to the parents are in huge demand. It is tough on the mind of a working mother to be leaving her kid in someone’s care because she is constantly engaged by a thought as to why and to what end she is doing this. With this guilt question on her mind and her kid in her eyes is an enormous pressure. She has to carry this burden throughout her day, every day.

Some regular communication, therefore, will make both the parent and the provider comfortable, reinforcing a relationship that is of big value to the parent-child-provider trio. Clearly, the best mode is verbal communication. But, a daily written report by the provider will make it more effective. Reciprocal written messages from the parent will tie the loose ends, ensuring a closed loop communication. This will only take a few minutes a day. It is a value barter to give that little time to gain a lot of mental peace.

There are Other Ways too to enhance This Comfort
1. A ‘Parent Day’ organized by the childcare will build a higher rapport and mutual concern between the parent and the provider.
2. The parents can informally invite the provider to visit their home. This will further smooth their interaction with the provider. The provider gets to know the child’s home environs to understand the child’s behavior. With this, both will develop better understanding and become more accommodative.
3. Electronic mails are a good idea. Just exchange notes in quick time. If you have some pictures, situations or useful information to share with the provider, do so. Frequent mails from each other will bring both the people closer for a greater mutual concern.
4. Once in a while, a surprise phone call from the daycare to parents that carries the voice of their sweet little ones can do magic. Parents will just be greatly grateful to the provider for this little gesture. The few minutes spent on this are worthier than a treasure.
It is wonderful for both the people to grab every possible opportunity to keep in communication and the child gets to spend time in two homes where the kid will feel equally happy, comfortable and loved. This will sow the seeds of emotions, sensitivity and compassion in the child in its tender age.
